TRAINING COURSES
The Journal's courses exist because the research repeatedly ran into the same problem. A paper can assume its reader knows how a lifecycle works. A team absorbing a new instrument, a new market, or a new regulation often does not, and the gap is not one a paper can close without becoming something other than a paper.
A course closes it. Each is a full-length treatment of one operational subject, built to the same standard as the research: primary sources, named instances, figures and tables that make a mechanism concrete, and a practitioner's judgment about what actually goes wrong. They are written for people who will be doing the work, not for people who will be presenting a summary of it.
#### What a course contains
A course runs to roughly a dozen lessons and two hundred or more pages. Each lesson takes one stage or one mechanism, works through it in sequence, and closes with the operational consequence. Throughout, figures show the flows and the structures, tables set out the comparisons and the reference data, and job aids extract the material a practitioner will want at the desk rather than in the narrative.
Courses are coded by library and level. DGA-101, Lifecycle of a Tokenized Security, and PVM-101, Lifecycle of a Private Equity Fund, are the first two, both foundational, both in the Lifecycle Series. The number carries the level: a 101 assumes no prior knowledge of the subject and builds from the beginning.
#### Who they are for
Three audiences, and the design serves all three. An individual practitioner moving into an unfamiliar asset class or function uses a course to get to competence quickly. A team lead uses one as a structured onboarding curriculum, which is what the job aids and the lesson sequencing are for. And a firm standing up a new capability uses one to bring a whole group to a common baseline before the build starts, which is the case institutional licensees make most often.
